Arbeitsschwerpunkte
Living in a different country can be an exciting opportunity to gain new experiences and to learn more about yourself. On the flip side, living in Germany can come with its own set of challenges. As an American-licensed therapist practicing in Mannheim, I understand firsthand how relocating to a new country can impact your mental health and emotional well-being. From navigating a different language and cultural expectations, to adapting to a new work and social environment, I understand how these experiences can trigger feelings anxiety, stress, grief, and even cause old traumas to resurface.
If you find yourself asking questions like:
-Why are the coping strategies I’ve always used no longer working for me?
-What do I do if my child is not adjusting to living in a new country?
-How can my partner and I understand and appreciate our cultural differences to grow our relationship together?
-How do I find a sense of belonging while maintaining my identity?
-How can I cope with having a baby away from my social support system I grew up with?
I will help you by combining evidence-based treatment with a personalized strengths-based approach to empower you to manage your life. Prior to arriving in Germany, I worked for over 10 years both in private practice and non-profit community health, as well as alternative and public school settings.
